Featurette: Beth Slade
Yesterday we met up with Beth Slade to collaborate on a model featurette. Beth is a model with extensive experience in Bridal, Glamour, Lifestyle, and Commercial work. We first met Beth while shooting at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s annual ballet gala last year. Sometime afterward we cast her in the music video for Dark Honey’s “Stinging Nettle”. So, naturally, when we began talking about shooting some small featurette style videos; Beth was the first person to come to mind.
All in all it was a pretty simple and straight forward shoot. After some hair and makeup provided by Bar Beauty and Co. of Troy, Beth met us at our studio and from there we headed over to Elixir 16 for some rooftop shots with the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. While it was a little chilly, the wind mostly held off for these rooftop sequences, which made handling the drone a little easier. Good thing too, considering Nick had to pilot the thing from a hole in the roof to keep out of the shot.
For the rest of the day we wandered downtown troy, grabbing as much footage as possible, and made Beth cross many streets, many times. Beth was a trooper though. Not only for putting up with our various requests, but for doing so while braving the frigid wind off the Hudson, through several takes and wardrobe changes. Each one seemingly less warm than the last. Beyond her professionalism and incredible talent, Beth possesses a wealth of knowledge about her industry and all the players in it. Knowledge that she was more than willing to share with us as we begin to traverse the modeling world. Keep an eye out across our various platforms for word on the video’s release.
