Well, we got a drone. That’s pretty neat.

 

Having a camera literally hurtling through the sky opens up a lot of options for cinematography.

A drone’s one of those things you don’t realize you needed until you have it, then all those lofty ideas you wanted to rip off from Christopher Nolan movies becomes attainable. Our first real exercise in using the drone came from our shoot with Troy Dance Factory, where we used it to showcase the large formations that were created for the piece. We ended up using more drone shots than we expected for this video, since we were surprised how well the DJI Phantom 4 Pro’s small camera can match to our RED.
